Tyrone Slothrop's Desk

Dear Little Tyrone,

Picture
You are the bravest man I ever know since the day you saved me from that gigantic Octopus... The times we sat at the beach together... waves trickling as it leaves the sands behind... palm trees and leaves flutters in the wind as your hand stroke mine... watching fifty seagulls soar across the sky... seems like our hearts will be inseparable ... That night at the Herman Goering Casino seems eternal for the two of us... the way you caress my body like your hand were made out of stars and my body was the galaxy... your body was a rocket ready to abolish my body... But how horrible it is for someone else to observe our harmony together! (Part 2, Ep. 23) Your news of sudden removal to Germany had shocked me... but I am now safe, hearing about you from now and then about your quest... I am writing this letter from England, spending my day with Roger and Jessica in the beach we first met... I hope you the best luck in fulfilling your mission, and I hope to see you once more one day... (Part 2, ending)
- Your Love, Katje Bourgesius

Greetings Mr Slothrop,

I have been amused by what science have evolved into today from generations ago, and it is continuingly doing so today. Our research here at The White Visitation is unlimited; we know everything about you and what you are capable of... My knowledge of Pavlovian psychology could be applied to the research of your special talent. Your mind is vast and unrestricted; my research on your brain will be the first ever to decode the mystery behind the schizophrenia disorder you possess. Do you remember why that Octopus attacked your lovely girlfriend on that shore that day? (P1, Ep. 14) It’s all a result of my research in conditioning, which made the Octopus respond to the voice of your girlfriend... Now the reason for this letter is to not only reveal to you the explanations behind your sexual excitations before the approach of the V-2 Rockets, but ultimately to use your extrasensory ability to detect the launches of these machines. Now join me, as we will be the first one to halt the German’s weapon of destruction, and win the one and only Nobel Prize (P1, Ep. 17).
